Central Region Vice President

Fred J. Major works for The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs as a Program Director for the State Approving Agency (SAA).

Fred joined the Indiana SAA in 2007 transferring from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD). While employed with DWD, Fred served as a Disabled Veteran Outreach Program spealists (DVOP) and Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER). As a DVOP and LVER he conducted outreach activities to promote Veterans as job seekers and insured Veterans received priority of service in referral to job opportunities.

Fred also has extensive supervisory and government relations experience working for many years as Executive Director, managing a not-for-profit trade association.

Fred also services the Veteran’s Community volunteering numerous hours. He is an active member of American Legion Post # 102, Past Adjutant for the Marine Corp League # 1263 and an active member of VFW Post #2693 where he currently serves as the Post Service Officer.

Fred served 4 years in the United States Air Force as a Security Police Law Enforcement Canine (K-9) Specialist from 1967-1973 and 4 years in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1973-1977.
