NASAA Executive Board Meets

October 16, 2014

NASAA's Executive Board met in Cincinnati October 6, prior to the National Training Institute.  About 20 officers and committee chairs attended the seven-hour session, chaired by President Joe Wescott (NC).

Much time was devoted to discussion of the proposed 2015 contract allocation model.  Contract Chair Rufus Coburn (TX) shared the proposal's details with the Board and led a point by point review.

The Board approved a NASAA strategic communications plan designed to increase NASAA's visibility in its various communities.  The proposal was developed by former SAA director Skip Gebhart (WV) with assistance from NASAA Past President Bill Stephens (PA) and current officers.  Board members first were briefed on the plan during their meeting in Albuquerque in August.  Along with approving the plan, the Board set up an ad hoc Communications Committee, headed by Public Affairs Liaison John Hose (MO), to implement its provisions.

The Board also heard plans for the 2015 Mid-Winter meeting set for February 7 -11 in Arlington, VA, as well as reports from all active NASAA Committees.
