NASAA Members,

Attached is an acknowledgement letter from Director Garcia in recognition of NASAA’s 75^th, anniversary. Our partnership with VA has improved significantly. Inasmuch, there’s still room to strengthen our relationship to ensure that we protect the integrity of the GI Bill®. Director Garcia has pledged the VA’s partnership with NASAA. As NASAA’s President, we equally have pledged our partnership with VA. We may not see the immediate changes, but trust me, there’s been movement that has benefited NASAA.

As I ponder my years in the military and in NASAA, almost a half of a century, I can’t help but to think of the men and women that have served our country that have relied upon the GI Bill® to enhance their personal lives and profession careers. I am a recipient of the GI Bill®.  As NASAA members, we have a serious responsibility to ensure that the integrity of the GI Bill® remains secure for our nation’s veterans, their families, current active duty members and our future veterans.

NASAA is a phenomenal association because of special and caring people like you!  Serving as NASAA President has been both fulfilling and challenging at times, but I would not have it any other way because we’re family, and family takes care of each other.   As President, I would like to thank the executive board, and the special committee members, especially, Vice President Ryan who has been there for me from day one. Thank you Vice President Ryan. I also would like to thank David Salgado for answering my call to be the Chair for the IHL/NCD committee. Special thanks to the VPs for assisting Madam VP and I with keeping the membership informed via spreadsheets and emails.  On a blast, to Laura Bach and Dan Wellman, thank you for all the work that you’ve done on behalf of NASAA and the many workgroups that you’ve been asked to participate on, and you’ve always said yes. Thank you both! To Dr. Joe Wescott, thank you for your legislative leadership. Where would NASAA be without you? Finally, I would like to thank you the membership because without you, there would not be a 75^th, NASAA celebration this summer. Thank you for what you’ve done, are doing and will do. To be the best, you have to work with the best, to me, that’s you NASAA family!

Here’s to you NASAA family for another 75 years!
